  1. Why do we believe so many incorrect facts about hormones?

We believe them because the words and supposed research have been manipulated for the profit of the companies and the food industries involved. These companies and industries have lobbied and become part of the “Truth” without having proven their claims. We have been lied to for many, many years by brilliant marketing efforts by Pharmaceutical Companies, and Certain Food Industry Groups. The industries are the pharmaceutical companies, and in this very specific case the Wyeth Ayerst company, the Dairy, Meat, Beef, and Grain Growers. The Soy industry is not without their lies too, but it is the animal food growers who spread much of the hogwash about “estrogens” in beans. I will identify and explain the facts along the way. You are in for some big surprises in separating the truth about our health/hormones/food needs, and the beliefs we have come to have.

C. INTENTIONALLY MISDIRECTED, INACCURATE, UNTRUE, AND CONFUSED SEMANTICS PLAY INTO OUR BELIEFS:

FOUR LIES WE & OUR DOCTORS BELIEVE

  1. FOUR BIG LIES WE & OUR DOCTORS BELIEVE

You have heard versions of these fabrications so many times you don’t think about it. And that is how it remains. You think it’s true because you have heard it so many times. And reasoning it out is not always possible as it is not your area of expertise. But it is mine. I would like to help you think and reason it out—because you need to know these truths for yourself. I will tell you the fabricated belief first, then the truth. I have spent 12+ years studying these issues. I can assure you that there is a significant financial interest behind each one of them and none of the lies will stand up to research, biochemistry, or logic. In every case the profits of a company or industries have supported the lie and now those companies and industries are so large that you can’t get around them. So you are going to have to stand up and figure it out or lose out.

  1. E. IMAGINE A WORLD WHERE BREAST CANCER WAS BEING PREVENTED—NOT DETECTED EARLY—PREVENTED!

My work focuses on the cause of illness, layer by layer. I can’t convey all I know in the web site. But I do believe that we already know enough to prevent breast cancer, not just find the cure.

Early detection is not prevention. Prevention is prevention. I feel overwhelmingly certain that the answers found within the concept of Nutrition Made Simple + Hormones is powerful enough to eradicate that disease. But there are billions of dollars at stake, which would not be spent on its treatment if breast cancer were no longer experienced by women at the current diagnosis rate of ~1 in 7 women It is an unnecessary, preventable, disfiguring, and deadly disease.

THE LIE: THAT SOYBEANS ARE FULL OF "ESTROGENS”. The truth: No, actually they are more anti-estrogenic than estrogenic. They are very protective in that specific way, keeping dangerous endogenous (internally made) and external estrogens from being able to harm us. AND organic soybeans are an amazingly nutrient rich food containing a virtually complete nutritional profile for the human physiology. Human beings could live on organic soybeans and some soy foods in a famine. Whole soybeans contain complete, lean, muscle building proteins; are particularly bone building & alkalizing; have one of the best O-3:O-6 ratios of all the recommended plant foods; they are full of antioxidants, B-vitamins, contain the 4 critical alkaline minerals (Mg, Ca, K, and Na) in significant amounts, along with the other organic minerals, C, H, N, P, S and are iron rich foods; and contain Se, Mn, and Cr as trace minerals. They contain an important protective adaptogenic (selective) binder of iron and excessive calcium called a Phytate or IP-6. They contain more fiber at ~12 g/100 g or 12% fiber than any grain except probably Barley, have bounteous complex carbohydrates, will not spike blood sugar, and can build muscle quickly and more effectively than the dairy industry’s wrongly promoted whey proteins. Plant proteins are healthier than animal proteins hands down for all the above reasons and their lower saturated/toxic fat content. Except for very leanest meats, the protein per calorie calculation for beans is less than that of meats consumed by Americans. Soybeans are an extremely versatile food, milk, and solid protein (about 17% by weight). Beans in general contain a range in proteins from 8-17% and 12-19% in fiber. Soybeans are on the lower end for fiber and higher end for protein. Black beans are the reverse. To learn more go to this fabulous web site by The George Mateljan Foundation. I find it to be the most accurate information. [http://whfoods. org/]

Estrogens, in general are growth factors. That means that they make cells grow in size and by duplication (cell mitosis) and proliferation. This is critical to understand as I discuss how dangerous they are when they are not minimized and controlled.

Organic Soybeans (not the genetically modified forms) contain very protective compounds that can act mildly estrogenic but are not ever proliferative. These compounds are called isoflavones and include Genestin and Diadzin which convert in the body into the more familiar terms Genestein and Diadzein. Isoflavones are one of the many hundreds of types of phytonutrients in our plant foods-all created by our Creator for our health and healing. Also called phytoestrogens, isoflavones are an extremely adaptable nutrient that can be an adequate estrogen in the few who actually need more estrogen. This form of estrogen, like only one other, Estriol (E3); are not growth stimulants and are therefore not cell proliferative. In fact, isoflavone’s most notable benefit is dominantly anti-estrogenic because most people have excessive estrogens. As I said, these are adaptogenic, taking on the role needed in that body at that time. If excessive estrogens exist, which they usually do, then the function of the isoflavones will default to the protective function-- by blocking more dangerous estrogens from being able to enter the cell membrane and reach its DNA. They bind readily to both the ERα and the ERβ receptors, blocking more dangerous estrogens from binding. They are the best form of selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERM’s). Their ability to bind to your estrogen receptors keeps the dangerous estrogens outside of the cell but allows in these mild non-proliferative forms reduces estrogen excess symptoms and the progression of estrogen related growths, such as endometriosis, fibroids, and breast cancer—just to name a few. This is very protective for people of all ages and both sexes. The two richest isoflavone filled foods are soybeans and flaxseeds.

Soybeans protectively modulate animal and other estrogens. Compare that benefit to eating and drinking dairy milk, cheeses, and eggs, along with all other animal meats, which are intentionally highly estrogenic, having had actual animal estrogens and other insulin-like growth factors (IGF’s) injected into them to double, triple or even quadruple their growth rate, fatten them up, and retain more water weight. Commercial animals are fed a diet as foreign to them as ours is to us. They are fed lots of grains and animal parts, rather than grass, hay, and alfalfa. The animal meats we eat, that come from commercially raised feedlots and chicken coops, are animals slaughtered who are themselves sick. They pass on their lifeless energy and other problems directly to you and your kids. If and when you eat animal proteins, you must choose organic free range animal foods.

It always surprises people when I tell them that I am not a vegetarian, but I only eat organic free range eggs, chicken and turkey, and limit it to 4-6 weekly servings. And as much as possible, I always have lots of vegetables to go with the meat. I simply cannot get the nutrients and fiber I need for my body without eating the 70-80% of my diet in plant form, as I recommend in THE TARGET DIET.

Not eating predominantly plant proteins and other organic high fiber foods is a mistake. I hope you will think this through for yourself. When buying soybean foods; buy only organic soy foods that still contain at least 3-5 g of fiber per serving. Organic or non-GMO Edamame, soymilks, and the JP Complete Smoothie will keep you healthier than avoiding them. Soybeans are really effective in reducing the affects of estrogens—like hot flashes and night sweats. I have seen it work many times as well as experiencing it first hand years ago. I had a chemotherapy induced menopause at 41 and significant hormonal misery for 2 ½ years. Having just learned about soybeans and their ability to affect raging hormones, I began having the smoothie pictured here everyday. Without exaggeration, I have never had another hot flash again. Not all soy isolates are equal. In fact for whatever reason, the same company that makes the fruit and vegetable capsules I recommend, has a fabulous smoothie mix, called Complete, with 4 g of fiber, a far better glycemic, and better nutrient mix. It is a meal replacement. The 4 g of fiber in the mix along with the fructooligosaccharides and other complex carbohydrates seem to make it much leaner with a better glycemic affect.

I continue to look at other smoothie mixes and powdered soy and whey foods. I don’t think I have ever seen one that contained more than 1 g of fiber, with one exception. It is the SP Whey based Complete used in the whole body cleanse. It has 2 g of fiber per serving. But it isn't even close to the nutritious hormone balancing mix that the JP Complete™ contains.
